Have you ever wondered why two people can experience the same situation and walk away with completely different perspectives?
It happens every day.
Each of us is wired differently. We communicate differently, solve problems differently, and respond to the world in our own unique way. Those differences aren't weaknesses—they're opportunities to better understand ourselves and the people around us.
At EmpowerU2Be, I help individuals, teams, and organizations discover what drives communication, why misunderstandings happen, and how to adapt with greater confidence, clarity, and connection.
Whether you're leading a team, teaching a classroom, navigating career transitions, or simply wanting stronger relationships at work or at home, you'll gain practical insights you can put into practice right away.
Because when you understand people, everything changes.

High-impact leadership begins with self-awareness—understanding how you naturally communicate, make decisions, respond under pressure, and influence others.
This interactive session introduced leaders to the concept of Style Intelligence and helped them recognize how different personality and communication styles shape workplace relationships, team dynamics, and leadership effectiveness.
Participants explored their own natural tendencies while learning how to adapt their approach to better connect with, motivate, and lead people who may think and respond differently.
Through practical examples and real-world leadership situations, participants gained strategies to reduce misunderstandings, strengthen collaboration, and communicate with greater intention.
The most effective leaders do not simply expect others to adjust to them. They develop the awareness and flexibility to bring out the best in the people they lead.

Because every student and educator brings a different perspective into the classroom, understanding those differences can transform the way people teach, learn, and work together.
This customized professional development experience gave educators practical insight into the personality styles represented in their classrooms. They explored ways to respond to different needs, reduce misunderstandings, and create an environment where more students can participate and succeed.
The program also included a separate experience for the senior class focused on self-awareness and career exploration. Students considered how their natural tendencies, talents, and preferred ways of working may align with future roles, environments, and career paths.
I created this experience with practical examples that were applicable to teachers and students. Both groups discovered that success does not look the same for everyone. Faculty left with new ways to support their students, while students received possible career choices that are aligned with who they are and what they want to do in the future.
One of the greatest rewards was helping students discover possibilities they may not yet see in themselves.

Interactions become easier when we better understand the people involved.
The People Puzzle is an interactive and engaging experience designed for adult audiences. It helps participants understand how personality and communication styles influence the way they speak, listen, respond, and connect with others at home, at work, and in their communities.
Using the memorable Eagle, Parrot, Dove, and Owl styles, participants gain insight into their own natural tendencies while learning to recognize what others may need from them. They discover why each style may approach the same situation differently—and that no one style is better than another.
Participants leave with greater self-awareness, a deeper understanding of the people around them, and practical strategies to reduce misunderstandings, strengthen relationships, and communicate more effectively in every area of life.
Every person is made up of unique puzzle pieces that influence how they think, communicate, learn, and lead. When we understand those pieces and how we are naturally wired, we can begin to solve The People Puzzle.

Being a paralegal requires the ability to communicate clearly, adapt to different personalities, and work effectively as part of a team.
In this student-focused training, future paralegals explore the communication styles they are likely to encounter in the legal profession and learn how to adjust their approach for greater clarity, professionalism, and effectiveness.
Drawing on my experience as a senior paralegal, along with my work as a communication trainer, I connect personality insights to the real-world expectations of today’s legal workplace. Students gain practical strategies for communicating with attorneys, coworkers, clients, and other professionals while building the self-awareness and confidence needed to become valued members of a legal team.
They become the paralegal that everyone wants on their team.

Classrooms are filled with students who learn, communicate, and stay motivated in different ways.
This professional development workshop helps paralegal instructors better understand the unique personalities of the students in their classrooms and provides practical strategies to engage every learner more effectively.
Drawing on my experience as both a senior paralegal and communication trainer, I connect personality insights with the real-world skills students need to succeed in the legal profession. Instructors leave with practical tools they can immediately apply to increase engagement, strengthen communication, and better prepare students for successful legal careers.
When we start asking, "How does this student learn best?" we create opportunities for every student to thrive.

Every woman has strengths. Sometimes life's experiences make it difficult to recognize them—or to trust them.
I created this trauma-aware workshop to help women rediscover who they are and find the confidence to use their voice again.
Through personality insights, practical communication strategies, and real-life application, women learn to recognize unhealthy patterns, establish healthier boundaries, and make more confident decisions.
Women leave with a renewed understanding of themselves, greater confidence in their unique gifts, and practical tools they can apply in everyday life.
I know from experience that when a woman understands her strengths, she begins to see new possibilities for her future.

My business partner and I decided to utilize EmpowerU2Be's services to conduct Personality Assessments for each of us. We wanted to better understand how each of us communicates and how we can communicate more effectively with others.
Similar to many individuals, our primary mode of communication is electronic, whether it be emails or text messages. Kathleen made sure that we had a good understanding of the different styles (Eagle, Parrot, Dove and Owl) and what each bird style represented. She then provided us with a comprehensive report about our style - including how we communicate and lead. She made sure that all our questions were answered.
We were surprised at what we learned about each other! We successfully utilized and applied the knowledge gained to help us improve our internal communications within our business.
I have taken other tests that are similar to this (DISC, Birkman); however, the Taking Flight with DISC training proved to be the most detailed, least complicated and fun version.
I would highly recommend Kathleen and her personal and professional development services to any business that wants to significantly improve communication within their teams – it was personal and not rushed.
